Congratulations to the
Sectional swimmers this past week. Our sectional team of Ben Sloan,
Ethan Fisher, Canaan Campbell, Zach Andregg, Danielle Hermann, Emma
Reaney, Chloe Portela, Morgan Flannigan, Maddy Dalcamo, Stacey
Rudman, Rachel Buchner, Reese Grabill, Phoebe Grabill, Heather
Clark, Heather Cistola, Kayla Hedges, and Kara Mishler had a number of performances that were best times
and swims that were simply just great long course races.
On the Women’s side our
girls finished in 2nd place out of 42 teams behind the Kansas City
Blazers. Emma Reaney and Chloe Portela both broke Long Course team
records over the weekend. Emma broke the 17-18 record in the 100
breast, 200 breast, and 200 fly. Chloe broke the 17-18 team record
in the 100 fly and also qualified for the XXI Central American and Caribbean Sports Games for the nation of
Puerto Rico. Chloe also broke the National Age Group Record for
Puerto Rico in the 100 fly as well. Emma Reaney won 3 events
including the 100 & 200 breast, and the 200 fly. We also won
the 800 free relay with a team of Morgan Flannigan, Maddy Dalcamo,
Danielle Hermann, and Emma Reaney. Emma Reaney also came hope with
the 3rd place high point trophy on the women's side. The 17-18 400
Medley Relay team of Heather Clark, Emma Reaney, Chloe Portela, and
Maddy Dalcamo also swam under the Missouri Valley Record time of
4:26.78. Many of the swims this weekend qualified our swimmers for
the USA Swimming Conoco Phillips National Championships and the USA
Swimming Speedo Junior National Championships meet at the end of
this summer.
